not blaming work for silence
It would sound good to say that work has been eating up my work time, but it hasn't. Another few weeks of backlog video appeared, but eh... i'm used to it. The real distraction from blogging has been playing Civ 4, with the Beyond the Sword expansion, during my downtime. It was born of rainy days, and just restless enough not to be able to focus on reading.

I picked up that expansion but I am afraid installing it will mess up my internet games with my brothers who do not have it. (Friday nights!)
So, I guess the expansion is pretty good? (Or work stinks, or both.)
I really like Civ, but dont play enough (or am too dense or soft) to get past Noble difficulty.
The expansion doesn't add that much more worth mentioning. It does help a lot if you tend to play like a pacifist, like myself. And work was really stinking for a couple of days.
My brother and i keep intending to play online, but cannot synch our schedules.
Same here with the difficulty level, although last night, i was in disbelief over being trounced in a last minute upset by technologically savvy Mongols.
The technologically savvy Mongols, huh? Talk about your alternate histories! There's a novel.
I, too, feel guilty attacking other countries (unless I absolutely must) and try to win with as little conquering as possible. I am especialy loathe to attack Gandhi. Its more fun to play the game as a sim than it is to just manipulate the code and win. On the other hand, its also fun to try different tactics and see what happens. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy a fight when I have to fight, unless I am on the losing end of a long battle of attrition...
